Today we have Jason Grunebaum speaking to us about his stint with the Redcross, Hindi to English translations and the salt project.  

Jason is an Instructional Professor at the university of Chicago teaching Hindi and Translation.  

He is also the co-director for The SALT Project which supports and promotes English-language translations of literature written in the languages of South Asia. 

Jason has book-length translations from Hindi include Uday Prakash’s The Girl with the Golden Parasol, The Walls of Delhi, and, co translated Manzoor Ahtesham’s The Tale of the Missing Man

His work has been shortlisted for the DSC Prize in South Asian Literature, longlisted for the National Translation Award, and he has been awarded the Global Humanities Translation Prize, a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship, and a PEN/Heim Translation Grant.
