On December 11th 2010, authorities searching for Shannan Gilbert stumbled upon a gruesome scene: The remains of a woman who was bound and wrapped in burlap. Her name was Melissa Barthelmy. Three days later they made another horrific discovery: Three more women who were bound and found in burlap. Those women were:
- Maureen Brainard-Barnes: Disappeared in 2007.
- Melissa Barthelemy: Disappeared in 2009.
- Amber Lynn Costello: Disappeared in 2010.
- Megan Waterman: Disappeared in 2010.
In this episode, we take a look at the investigation throughout the years and how the victims and their families seem to be on the cusp of holding Rex Heuermann, the man the government says is responsible, to justice.
