Your Family is your Priority in Life‼️ Don’t Give Up on Nasty Relatives, David

‭‭By Pastor and Mrs Chifamba

RELATIVES CAN NOT ONLY BE NASTY BUT ALSO VERY HYPOCRITICAL

‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭12‬:‭6‬

“For even your brothers, the house of your father, Even they have dealt treacherously with you; Yes, they have called a multitude after you. Do not believe them, Even though they speak smooth words to you.”

YOUR RELATIVES CAN FORGET YOU BUT JUST FORGIVE THEM. DAVID WAS FORGOTTEN DURING THE ANOINTING SERVICE BUT GOD REMEMBERED HIM

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭31‬:‭12‬-‭14‬

“I am forgotten like a dead man, out of mind; I am like a broken vessel. For I hear the slander of many; Fear is on every side; While they take counsel together against me, They scheme to take away my life. But as for me, I trust in You, O Lord; I say, “You are my God.””

‬ ‭ Psalms‬ ‭27‬:‭10

“When my father and my mother forsake me, Then the Lord will take care of me.”

1 Samuel‬ ‭16‬:‭10‬-‭12‬

“Thus Jesse made seven of his sons pass before Samuel. And Samuel said to Jesse, “The Lord has not chosen these.” And Samuel said to Jesse, “Are all the young men here?” Then he said, “There remains yet the youngest, and there he is, keeping the sheep.” And Samuel said to Jesse, “Send and bring him. For we will not sit down till he comes here.” So he sent and brought him in. Now he was ruddy, with bright eyes, and good-looking. And the Lord said, “Arise, anoint him; for this is the one!””

EVEN AFTER DAVID’S ANOINTING HIS BROTHERS DID NOT DEAL KINDLY WITH HIM

‭‭1 Samuel‬ ‭17‬:‭21‬-‭22

“For Israel and the Philistines had drawn up in battle array, army against army. And David left his supplies in the hand of the supply keeper, ran to the army, and came and greeted his brothers.”

1 Samuel‬ ‭17‬:‭26‬

“Then David spoke to the men who stood by him, saying, “What shall be done for the man who kills this Philistine and takes away the reproach from Israel? For who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God?””

‭‭1 Samuel‬ ‭17‬:‭28‬-‭30‬ ‭NIV

“When Eliab, David’s oldest brother, heard him speaking with the men, he burned with anger at him and asked, “Why have you come down here? And with whom did you leave those few sheep in the wilderness? I know how conceited you are and how wicked your heart is; you came down only to watch the battle.” “Now what have I done?” said David. “Can’t I even speak?” He then turned away to someone else and brought up the same matter, and the men answered him as before.”

DON’T FUEL FAMILY FEUDS BY RECKLESS TALKING

‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭12‬:‭18‬

“There is one who speaks like the piercings of a sword, But the tongue of the wise promotes health.”

‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭15‬:‭1‬

“A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.”

Proverbs‬ ‭25‬:‭15‬

“With patience a ruler may be persuaded, and a soft tongue will break a bone.”

‭‭

GOD CAN BRING FAMILY RECONCILIATION

1 Samuel‬ ‭22‬:‭1‬

“David therefore departed from there and escaped to the cave of Adullam. So when his brothers and all his father’s house heard it, they went down there to him.”

In the cave of Adullam, the family were united in sympathy and affection. The son of Jesse could make melody with voice and harp. He had tasted the bitterness of distrust on the part of his own brothers, and the harmony that had taken the place of discord brought joy to the exile’s heart. – {From Eternity Past p.478.2}

Psalms‬ ‭133‬:‭1‬

“Behold, how good and how pleasant it is For brethren to dwell together in unity!”
