Happy Thanks-Living!

Season 18 Episode 4974 Published 1 year, 1 month ago
Description

Happy Thanksgiving!

These days, most folks don't remember what Thanksgiving is all about - other than big sales all over Amazon.

The Pilgrims celebrated the first Thanksgiving after a successful harvest in October 1621. The feast lasted three days. The federal holiday began in 1863 when President Abraham Lincoln proclaimed a national day of "Thanksgiving."

Thanksgiving is about being grateful. I think a statement from Stoic Philosopher Epictetus is fitting,

"He is a wise man who does not grieve for the things which he has not, but rejoices for those which he has."

Today and every day, let's make it "Thanks-Living" day.

Eat well, nap, watch football, and embrace your family and friends.
