The number five Miami Hurricanes make another STATEMENT WIN, blowing up 18th ranked USF 49-12 at Hard Rock Stadium.
The Canes’ rushing defense held dual threat quarterback Byrum Brown to just 2 rushing yards on 13 attempts and Miami out-rushed the Bulls 205 to 40. Hurricanes defensive end Rueben Bain continues to play like a top NFL draft pick. Quarterback Carson Beck had a big game despite 2 interceptions. Beck threw for 340 yards and 3 touchdowns while adding a rushing score. Physical running back Mark Fletcher Jr set the tone with 120 yards and 2 touchdowns.
The Hurricanes saw breakout games from receivers Josh Moore and Keelan Marion. Moore, a true freshman, scored his first two collegiate touchdowns. Marion, the BYU transfer, let Miami with 81 yards on 6 receptions. Miami will host COLLEGE GAMEDAY next Saturday before facing the Florida Gators.
