Episode 9
In the ninth episode of Cross Examined with The Gerbers, we welcome A.D. Adams, a world-renowned drummer who has spent his life making music at the highest levels. A.D. has performed at the White House for President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump, toured the world, and even partied with Aerosmith. His journey began at just 19 years old when he became part of Chuck Berry’s backing band, an experience that quickly revealed the harsh realities of the music business.
Throughout his career, A.D. has played in music videos, worked with countless artists, and built a reputation as one of the most respected drummers in the industry. Today, he continues to perform as Jack Ratay’s drummer for the band Three Heart Cross and runs his own studio, where much of the band’s music has been recorded. He has even joined the Gerbers on international trips, including a visit to Poland. Despite the fame and opportunities, A.D. remains humble, grounded, and thankful for the life he has built through music.
This conversation is an inside look at a lifetime in music, the lessons learned along the way, and the role faith and humility play in sustaining a career at the top.
