Living A New Normal Big Life With Army Powerlifter And Wellness Warrior Antoinette Lee

Send us a text

Today, I sit down with Antoinette Lee, a U.S. Army veteran, podcaster, blogger, and adventure sports athlete, to discuss her inspiring journey of resilience and transformation. Ms. Lee spent 11 years in the Army as an aerosol-qualified expert field medic, where she carried heavy loads, saved lives, and even competed as a powerlifter and bodybuilder. But after sustaining a traumatic brain injury and spinal cord injury, she found herself facing years of surgeries, autoimmune diseases, and the possibility that she might not survive.

In this conversation, Ms. Lee shares how she went from using a walker and service dog to becoming a sponsored outdoor athlete in her fifties. We talk about her pivot from corporate tech leadership to reconnecting with her roots in natural medicine and outdoor living. She explains how archery, whitewater kayaking, and homesteading in the North Woods became powerful tools for healing and how she rebuilt her health and identity by creating what she calls a "new normal, big life."

We also get into the importance of community and service. Together, we explore military culture, faith, resilience, outdoor therapy, and how anyone—whether a veteran or civilian—can take the first step toward creating a healthier, more meaningful life.
