The wave goodbye: Nebraska-Iowa no longer means more to the Hawkeyes

Episode 386 Published 1 year, 5 months ago
Description

Nebraska coach Matt Rhule on Monday shared thoughts on the Huskers’ next steps as a football team – and as a program – after their bowl-securing victory. First up is to take aim at a seventh victory this season on Friday at Iowa.

No longer in this rivalry do the Hawkeyes want it more. That much was clear from Rhule, who remembered out loud the goodbye waves that Iowa players delivered as they left the field last year at Memorial Stadium after a walk-off victory that squashed Nebraska’s postseason hopes.

Connor and Mitch say it’s a good thing that the Nebraska coach and players are paying attention to the motivational pieces in play in this series. Also, the departure of wide receiver Malachi Coleman at Nebraska is official. How did the Huskers lose one of their top signees of the Rhule era, and what’s the future for Coleman? Also, Rhule talked a lot on Monday about offensive execution. The Huskers did it well against Wisconsin. Why did it take so long? Join us on this Tuesday.
