California Surf Report: Malibu to San Luis Obispo Offers Moderate Waves and Comfortable Waters This Weekend

Published 7 months, 2 weeks ago
Description
Surf's up, wave riders! We've got the lowdown on what Mother Nature's cooking up along the California coast this weekend.

Malibu and LA County beaches are serving up a moderate rip current risk with waves dancing between 2 to 4 feet. Water temps are sitting pretty at a sweet 68 to 75 degrees - totally comfortable for catching some sweet swells. We're looking at a mixed south and west swell situation that'll keep things interesting.

Tide-wise, you'll want to watch those water levels. Today's got four tide shifts ranging from a low of -0.4 feet to a high of 6.1 feet. That means plenty of opportunities to paddle out and ride those waves.

Heading up to Ventura County, conditions are nearly identical - moderate rip current risk, 2 to 4 foot surf, and those same mixed south and west swells. Water's running 68 to 74 degrees, so grab your board and sunscreen.

Santa Barbara's got a slightly mellower scene with a low rip current risk and 1 to 3 foot waves. Water temps are a bit cooler at 67 to 69 degrees, but still totally manageable.

For you hardcore surfers looking north, San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara's central coast are pumping out some more substantial 3 to 5 foot waves. Water's a bit chillier at 58 to 60 degrees, so you might want that wetsuit.

No thunderstorms in the forecast, which means clean conditions for wave hunting. Stay safe, watch those rip currents, and enjoy the ride!
