Psalm 22:10

I was cast upon thee from the womb: thou art my God from my mother's belly. 

SAMSON HAD PRAYERFUL PARENTS WHO WOULD RECEIVE ANGEL VISITS. THEY WERE TAUGHT BY AN ANGEL HOW TO INSTRUCT HIM. HE ATE AN ANGEL PRESCRIBED DEIT RIGHT FROM HIS MOTHER’S WOMB YET UNFORTUNATELY HE DID NOT LIVE UP TO THE GREAT LIGHT HE HAD RECEIVED.

Judges 13:8

Then Manoah intreated the LORD, and said, O my Lord, let the man of God which thou didst send come again unto us, and teach us what we shall do unto the child that shall be born. 

Judges 13:12-14

And Manoah said, Now let thy words come to pass. How shall we order the child, and how shall we do unto him? 13And the angel of the LORD said unto Manoah, Of all that I said unto the woman let her beware. 14She may not eat of any thing that cometh of the vine, neither let her drink wine or strong drink, nor eat any unclean thing: all that I commanded her let her observe.

Judges 13:24-25

And the woman bare a son, and called his name Samson: and the child grew, and the LORD blessed him. 25And the Spirit of the LORD began to move him at times in the camp of Dan between Zorah and Eshtaol.

Proverbs 1:8-10

My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother: 9For they shall be an ornament of grace unto thy head, and chains….

The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise. 

Judges 14:1-3

And Samson went down to Timnath, and saw a woman in Timnath of the daughters of the Philistines. 2And he came up, and told his father and his mother, and said, I have seen a woman in Timnath of the daughters of the Philistines: now therefore get her for me to wife. 3Then his father and his mother said unto him, Is there never a woman among the daughters of thy brethren, or among all my people, that thou goest to take a wife of the uncircumcised Philistines? And Samson said unto his father, Get her for me; for she pleaseth me well. 

How often inclination governs in the selection of husband or wife! The parties do not ask counsel of God nor have His glory in view. Satan is constantly seeking to strengthen his power over the people of God by inducing them to enter into alliance with his subjects. In order to accomplish this he endeavors to arouse unsanctified passions. – {From Eternity Past p. 405.4}

THE WORD OF GOD FORBIDS BELIEVERS TO MARRY NON BELIEVERS, BUT SAMSON GAVE A DEAF EAR TO BIBLICAL AND PARENTAL COUNSEL.

Deuteronomy 7:3-4

Neither shalt thou make marriages with them; thy daughter thou shalt not give unto his son, nor his daughter shalt thou take unto thy son. 4For they will turn away thy son from following me, that they may serve other gods: so will the anger of the LORD be kindled against you, and destroy thee suddenly. 

‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭6‬:‭14‬-‭15 NKJV‬‬

“Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness? And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever?

Marriage affects the afterlife both in this world and in the world to come. A sincere Christian will make no plans that God cannot approve. – {Ministry of Healing p. 359.1}

If you are blessed with God-fearing parents, seek counsel of them. Open to them your hopes and plans, learn the lessons which their life experiences have taught, and you will be saved many a heartache. Above all, make Christ your counselor.
