Wanted dead or alive: Taiwan's lizard bounty | Ep14
Description
Two reptile species were so much of a perceived environmental threat in Taiwan back around 2016 that Chiayi county started offering bounties for them, dead or alive. What the government hoped would be environmental conservation ended up being criticized as a misguided conservation policy at best.
In this episode Tristan sits down with Reptile Conservation Association of Taiwan Chairman Chung-Wei You to go over the background and shortcomings of Taiwan's lizard bounty.
