The public school bus driver shortage in the U.S. has become a significant issue, with many school districts struggling to find enough drivers to transport students to and from school. In some states, the situation is further complicated by laws requiring public school districts to also provide transportation for private and charter school students, even though these institutions often do not contribute to the funding of transportation services. As a result, public school districts are stretched thin, balancing limited resources while trying to meet the transportation needs public school.
