Description

Keep your eyes peeled for the release 0f "Found In The Footnotes" - our newest history podcast- coming soon!)

In my research, footnotes often contain some of the best history-and here are 9 stories that I found through footnotes. Explicit: animal abuse in story #8 see below.

  1. A life saved- a life taken. A young man is rescued from danger by a famous actor in 1864.
  2. A man named Burns invents a wacky musical instrument and while the instrument fades into history, its name lives on.
  3. The Jazz age in Paris in the 20's and 30's created stories, legends, and heroes. Meet Josephine Baker.
  4. A long lost American patriot is found in a footnote.
  5. The Pluto Platter and Frisbie Pie Company shared a lot in common.
  6. The 1933 burning of the Reichstag may be forgotten but had huge ramifications in history.
  7. The 9th Army press corp dines in a castle owned by a Nazi.
  8. Explicit London in 1710 a showplace for animal brutality
  9. 6 Boys survive 15 months as castaways in the Pacific
