President Trump moved to oust Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook following allegations that she falsified mortgage documents, citing "sufficient cause" to fire her. Forcing out Cook would give Trump an opportunity to secure a four-person majority on the Fed's seven-member Board of Governors, with her term not set to expire until 2038.
2) Cam Harvey, professor at Duke University, joins for an extended discussion on tariffs, rate cuts, and Fed independence. Fed governor Lisa Cook, in challenging President Trump’s removal order, could immediately seek an injunction reinstating her while litigation moves forward.
