On the lonely prairies of South Dakota, legends speak of Walking Sam—a towering shadow said to collect the hopeless, stringing them like beads along his endless arms. Those who hear his whispers aren’t offered death, but something far more chilling: rest without release, an eternal march across the plains.

In this episode of Haunted American History, we dive into the unsettling folklore of Walking Sam, a figure rooted in Sioux legend and tied to real-world stories of despair. Blending atmospheric horror with history, this story explores the whispers of the tall man on the prairie and the haunting questions his legend raises.

If you’re drawn to creepy podcasts about American folklore, urban legends, and paranormal horror, this is an episode you won’t want to miss.
