Ar: تحت سماءٍ تمتد كغطاء رمادي، وعلى الأرض التي غطاها الثلج، كان هناك مدرسة قديمة في حافة المدينة المهجورة.
En: Under a sky that stretched like a gray blanket, and on the snow-covered ground, there was an old school on the edge of an abandoned city.

Ar: تحوّلت المدرسة إلى قلعة بالية، حيث كان هناك جدران متشققة وسقف متهالك يحمل بقايا لأيامٍ انقضت.
En: The school had turned into a dilapidated fortress, with cracked walls and a rickety roof that bore remnants of bygone days.

Ar: لكن، بين تلك البقايا، كانت هناك حياة: كانت ليلى وأخاها الأصغر، ومعهم مجموعة صغيرة من الناجين، ما زالوا صامدين.
