Ja: 冷たい風が吹くと、灰色の空が低くたれこめ、広がる破壊された風景に重くのしかかった。
En: When the cold wind blew, the gray sky loomed low, weighing heavily on the widespread, devastated landscape.

Ja: ハルキは布のコートを強く抱え、冷たさをしのぎながら歩いた。
En: Haruki clutched his cloth coat tightly, walking to ward off the chill.

Ja: 彼はなんとか生き延びるために清潔な水を探していた。
En: He was searching for clean water to survive somehow.

Ja: 水はここでは貴重なものだった。
En: Water was a precious commodity here.

Ja: 生き残るためには、水が必要だった。
En: To survive, he needed water.

Ja: ハルキは孤独だった。
En: Haruki was lonely.
