काकः चलति हंसगत्या

कदाचित् गर्विष्ठः काकः हंसेन सह स्पर्धार्थं सन्नद्धः जातः । हंसः काकश्च उड्डयनम् आरब्धवन्तौ । काकः स्वसामर्थस्य कौशलस्य च प्रदर्शनाय भिन्नप्रकारेण उड्डयनम् अकरोत् । हंसः तु समानगत्या उड्डयते स्म । ततः हंसः सागराभिमुखः जातः । किञ्चित्कालाभ्यन्तरे अनभ्यासेन उड्डयनेन च तस्य शरीरे स्वेदः जातः । परन्तु परितः सम्पूर्णतया जलराशिः । तस्मात् भीतः काकः मम मरणं निश्चितम् इति विचिन्त्य प्राणान् रक्षितुं हंसं प्रार्थितवान् । करुणालुः हंसः काकं स्वस्कन्धयोः उपरि संस्थाप्य प्रत्यागच्छत् । ततः आरभ्यः काकः न कदापि अहङ्कारं प्रादर्शयत् ।

A proud crow challenged a swan to a flying contest. The crow showcased its skills with varied flight maneuvers, while the swan maintained a steady course. As they approached the ocean, the crow, unaccustomed to prolonged flight, began sweating and grew exhausted. Surrounded by endless water, fear gripped the crow, realizing its fate was sealed. In desperation, it pleaded with the swan for help. Compassionate by nature, the swan carried the crow on its back and returned safely. From that day, the crow never displayed arrogance again.
