South Sudan has been invited to attend the Africa Climate Summit 2 in Addis Ababa from 8–10 September 2025, where 25 heads of state are expected. The summit will push for Africa’s unified position ahead of COP30, the G20, and the UN General Assembly in Brazil. Ethiopia’s Embassy in Juba says South Sudan’s participation is vital, given the country’s severe climate impacts.
