Summary

Ecclesiastes 3-5, not the most inspiring chapters, but they’re a bit less hopeless than the first two. Chapter 4 caught my attention. It talks about the downside of working hard without any family or close relationships. Solomon suggests that having companionship is better. I’ve seen the truth in that as I’ve grown older. My loner father believed in self-reliance, but I later realized the emptiness of that mindset. In contrast, my caring father-in-law understood the value of being with people. Being a self-made person means nothing if you isolate yourself.
