Episode Details

In this episode of Relatable Wisdom, I had the pleasure of sitting down with Larry Onan, whose journey of over 50 years in acting, life coaching, and nonprofit consulting is fueled by a powerful quote from Oswald Chambers: “All of God’s people are ordinary people who have been made extraordinary by the purpose for which he was given.” Larry opens up about discovering his strengths, embracing the freedom to fail, and letting purpose—not fear—shape his path. We dive deep into why knowing your gifts is essential, how wisdom is earned through years and experience, and why genuine impact comes from embracing collaboration and stewardship over ownership. Larry’s personal stories about unexpected turns, failed plans, and building a purpose-driven life offer listeners a blueprint for living intentionally, maximizing strengths, and leaning into life’s surprises. Whether you’re feeling stuck or searching for clarity, you’ll walk away inspired to embrace your ordinariness—so it can be transformed into something extraordinary.
