Before Portland rents skyrocketed, the city was home to one of the most exciting local music scenes in the country. A whole generation of independent artists back in the early 2010s defined Portland’s current cultural identity. Today on City Cast Portland, host Claudia Meza is talking with Portland Mercury music editor Nolan Parker about local artists who defined the era, and some new artists still keeping the music scene strong today.
