Israel's security cabinet has approved a military operation in which the IDF would enter Gaza City and surrounding villages - Hamas' final stronghold. According to Prime Minister Netanyahu, the goal of the mission is to free Gaza from Hamas, bring home the hostages, erect a security barrier, and create a civil administration in order to oversee Gaza long-term. However, a coalition crisis might be looming as Minister Betzalel Smotrich believes Israel must annex Gaza, and administer its control in order to achieve a total victory.
