COWABUNGA! The Heroes in a Half Shell return in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze, the 1991 action/adventure sequel directed by Michael Pressman. Picking up after the events of the first film, Leonardo (Mark Caso in suit, voiced by Brian Tochi – Revenge of the Nerds, Police Academy), Donatello (Leif Tilden in suit, voiced by Corey Feldman in the first film and Adam Carl here – The Wizard, Lost Boys: The Tribe), Raphael (Kenn Scott in suit, voiced by Laurie Faso – The Brave Little Toaster), and Michelangelo (Michelan Sisti in suit, voiced by Robbie Rist – The Brady Bunch Movie, Balto) discover the origins of the mysterious ooze that mutated them into crime-fighting ninjas. They team up once again with TV reporter April O’Neil (Paige Turco – The 100, NCIS: New Orleans) and new ally Keno (Ernie Reyes Jr. – Surf Ninjas, Red Sonja) to take on the resurrected Shredder (François Chau – Lost, 21 & Over), who has unleashed monstrous mutants Tokka and Rahzar to destroy the turtles. With the guidance of their wise master Splinter (Kevin Clash – Sesame Street, The Dark Crystal), the turtles face high-energy martial arts showdowns, comedic pizza-fueled hijinks, and even a memorable cameo from Vanilla Ice during the iconic “Ninja Rap” nightclub sequence. Famous moments include the turtles’ rooftop battle with the Foot Clan, the hilarious supermarket fight scene, Tokka & Rahzar’s destructive rampage, and the finale showdown at the docks that cements Secret of the Ooze as a beloved 90s pop culture time capsule.
