Snake Island, off the coast of Brazil, is one of the scariest places on Earth because it’s packed with deadly snakes! It’s home to the golden lancehead viper, a rare species whose venom is so toxic it can melt human flesh and cause severe injury within minutes. There are reportedly one to five snakes per square meter on the island, so it's almost impossible to walk around without running into one. The government has banned people from going there, and even locals are too afraid to visit. Only a few scientists and the Brazilian Navy are allowed on the island, but they have to take extreme precautions. Snake Island is so dangerous it’s like something out of a movie!
