Gratitude, like faith, is a muscle. The more you use it, the stronger it grows, the more powerful effect it has on your life. There are actual studies about the effects of gratitude on people. One suggests that people that practice gratitude daily are happier, healthier and more able to navigate life's set-backs.
Another found that a gratitude practice can rewire your brain to reduce stress, improve sleep and improves self-esteem. Another found that gratitude can improve relationships because you see what you are thankful for in them instead of what is missing.
Practicing gratitude attracts more blessing so if you do not practice gratitude, the attraction it provides for more goodness into your life will be diminished.
To be grateful is to find blessings everywhere. This is the easiest attitude to adopt because there ARE blessings in everything. It just takes practice to notice them. Start today and see if you can find reasons to be grateful throughout your day.
