In a decision welcomed by many local preservation advocates, the Prescott City Council has once again voted to deny the proposed Prescott Plaza Hotel project, affirming the city’s ongoing commitment to maintaining the historic character of its beloved downtown. Council Rejects Proposal to Replace Historic Structures The vote—4 to 2 against the project—followed extensive review and community feedback. The hotel plan, which would have replaced three historic buildings on Whiskey Row with a four-story, 47-room hotel, included retail space and a rooftop patio.
