This sermon Pastor Marcus describes how our church is a House of Refuge protecting the sanctity of life with compassion, humility and encouragement using the metaphor of running a race. The example of the extreme endurance race of the Moab 240 as a metaphor for life where aid stations and pacers are essential to a runner’s success. The church is an aid station with believers as the pacers that can provide support to those in need. All believers are called to see and help hurting people, serving “the least of these” as Jesus said to do. We are called to help the most vulnerable around us, including the unborn. The church is a house of refuge because God is our unwavering refuge, an ever present help in times of trouble.
