Ep. 30 Reclaiming Your Voice in a System That Silences with Soudie Tahmassebipour

Episode 30

Show Notes:

In this episode of Healing Doesn’t Have to Be Heavy, Angie Berrett sits down with Soudie Tahmassebipour to share her powerful journey; from surviving childhood abuse to becoming a fierce advocate for justice, equity, and systemic change.

Soudie opens up about the deep work of healing and how trauma intersects with patriarchy, law enforcement, and the workplace. She challenges the norms that keep women silent and emphasizes the importance of having honest, uncomfortable conversations to spark real change.

This is a conversation about resilience, truth-telling, and reclaiming power—ending with a bold reminder: you’re allowed to ask for what you’re worth.

Bio:

Soudie is an Iranian-American attorney and certified diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging expert. Prior to becoming a consultant, she worked for twenty years as a public defender, first at The New Hampshire Public Defenders Office then at The Committee for Public Counsel Services in Massachusetts. She has supervised hundreds of attorneys and has dedicated her career to empowering and advocating for individuals who have been historically marginalized by the system. She is also the founder and Executive Director of the Wachusett Area Social Justice Alliance and has presented at trainings and events all over New England and abroad.
