Episode 146: Leadership Lessons From A Professional Juggler
About 3 years ago, the 5th grade boys at my school were obsessed with juggling. I don’t know how it started, but about half of them were juggling all the time, especially at recess. I remember thinking: “That looks really difficult.”
Recently, I have been thinking about how a professional juggler is like a private school leader. Sometimes we say, “I’m juggling a lot right now” or we refer to how we are “juggling our priorities.” I've even heard people say, "I have a lot of balls in the air right now."
As a private school leader, you're juggling enrollment, academics, upset parents, student discipline, dress code, teacher morale, event planning, board reports and that’s before lunch!
