2023 December 14 - Supernova Remnant Cassiopeia A

Published 2 years, 2 months ago
Description

In today's image, we see the supernova remnant known as Cassiopeia A. This would have been seen to explode here on Earth about 350 years ago. However, it was not clearly seen, possibly because of excess dust between us and the supernova.
