Published 2 years, 2 months ago
Description

In today's image, we see a number of meteors from the Quadrantid meteor shower. A meteor shower is named from the constellation from which the meteors appear to radiate. In this case, it is the obsolete constellation of Quadrans Muralis which is no longer one of the constellations recognized by the International Astronomical Union.
