2024 September 23 - Comet Tsuchinshan-ATLAS Approaches

Published 1 year, 5 months ago
Description

In today's image, we see comet Tsuchinsan-ATLAS which will make its closest approach to Sun later the week and its closest approach to Earth next month. It may brighten enough to be visible with the naked eye, but it is extremely difficult to predict the future brightness of a comet.
