2024 September 27 - Stellar Streams in the Local Universe

Published 1 year, 5 months ago
Description

In today's image, we see images of 20 different galaxies, each of these seen to have streams of stars around it. The streams are caused by the larger galaxy which is consuming a smaller galaxy and tearing it apart with its tidal forces.
