A Way in the Wilderness: The Lord will Provide (Part 1)

By Pastor and Mrs Chifamba

THIS WORLD 🌍 OF SIN IS A TERRIBLE WILDERNESS BUT THE LORD DOES NOT FORSAKE AND FORGET HIS CHILDREN IN HARD TIMES. HE PROVIDES FOR THEM

Isaiah 43:19

Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.

Psalm 78:12-16

Marvelous things did he in the sight of their fathers, in the land of Egypt, in the field of Zoan. 13He divided the sea, and caused them to pass through; and he made the waters to stand as an heap. 14In the daytime also he led them with a cloud, and all the night with a light of fire. 15He split the rocks in the wilderness, and gave them drink as out of the great depths. 16He brought streams also out of the rock, and caused waters to run down like rivers.

Psalm 78:19-20

Yes, they spoke against God; they said, Can God furnish a table in the wilderness? 20Behold, he smote the rock, that the waters gushed out, and the streams overflowed; can he give bread also? can he provide flesh for his people?

Psalm 78:23-25

Though he had commanded the clouds from above, and opened the doors of heaven, 24And had rained down manna on them to eat, and had given them of the corn of heaven. 25Man did eat angels' food: he sent them meat to the full.

THE WILDERNESS EXPERIENCE SHOULD LEAD US TO CRY FOR THE SPIRITUAL PROVISIONS MORE THAN THE TEMPORARY SUPPLIES OF FOOD AND DRINK!

Romans‬ ‭14‬:‭17‬ ‭RSV‬‬

“For the kingdom of God is not food and drink but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit;”

Deuteronomy 8:2-3

And you shall remember all the way which the LORD your God led you these forty years in the wilderness, to humble you, and to prove you, to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep his commandments, or no. 3And he humbled you, and suffered you to hunger, and fed you with manna, which you knew not, neither did your fathers know; that he might make you know that man does not live by bread only, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of the LORD does man live.

Matthew 4:2-4

And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungered. 3And when the tempter came to him, he said, If you be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. 4But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.

Jesus met Satan with the words of Scripture. “It is written,” He said. In every temptation the weapon of His warfare was the word of God. Satan demanded of Christ a miracle as a sign of His divinity. But that which is greater than all miracles, a firm reliance upon a “Thus saith the Lord,” was a sign that could not be controverted. So long as Christ held to this position, the tempter could gain no advantage. – {Desire of Ages p. 120.1}

Job 23:11-12

My foot has held his steps, his way have I kept, and not declined. 12Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.

THOSE WHO ARE CALLED BY THE NAME OF THE LORD FEED ON THE WORD OF GOD 📖

Jeremiah 15:16-17

Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts. 17I sat not in the assembly of the mockers, nor rejoiced; I sat alone because of thy hand: for thou hast filled me with indignation.

Psalm 119:9-11

Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word. 10With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments. 11Thy word have
