July 28th: Why God Gave You Parents | Kids Devotional Carpooling with Jesus

Season 1 Episode 159 Published 7 months, 1 week ago
Description

Hey Carpool Crew! Whether you’re still waking up in the car or already asking for snacks, Pastor Justin is glad you're here!

In today’s episode, we’re talking all about parents—yep, the ones who told you to brush your teeth this morning. But they’re not just there to make rules. God gave you your parents on purpose—to help you grow into who He made you to be.

📖 Today’s verse comes from Proverbs 1:8–9 (CSB):
“Listen, my son, to your father’s instruction, and don’t reject your mother’s teaching.”

We’ll explore what Jesus might say about honoring your parents, how even He listened to Mary and Joseph, and how doing what your parents ask can actually make you wiser, kinder, and stronger.

🎒 Back-to-school challenge: Try doing one thing your parents ask this week without complaining—and see it as a gift, not a chore.

💬 Discussion Question:
What’s one thing your parents ask you to do that you could see as a gift, not a chore this week?

🚗 Don’t forget: God chose your family for a reason. He’s with you every step of the way.
