Step into a photograph with me. Let me tell you a story... a story that starts with a classic summer wave of heat, arches with a smudge of red clay and concludes with the memories of "all those old cactus stings."
To be “in the desert” was both a physical and a metaphorical initiation.
This story touches on the transformational tale of the initiation of finding sobriety. (The full initiation story can be heard by those attending Desert Medicine circles, held each summer in the South Okanagan.)
