Story Transcript:

Sl: Nika je stala pred vrati ljubljanske policijske postaje.
En: Nika was standing in front of the doors of the Ljubljana police station.

Sl: Zrak je bil vroč, sonce je sijalo skozi velika okna čakalnice.
En: The air was hot, and the sun was shining through the large windows of the waiting room.

Sl: Ljudje so se prestopali z noge na nogo, nekateri nemirni, drugi sitni.
En: People were shifting from foot to foot, some restless, others grumpy.

Sl: Vendar Nika ni opazila gneče okoli sebe.
En: However, Nika didn't notice the crowd around her.

Sl: Skrbela jo je ena stvar — njen brat, Zoran.
En: She was worried about one thing—her brother, Zoran.

Sl: Zoran je izginil med vikend pohodom in še se ni vrnil.
En: Zoran had disappeared during a weekend hike and had not returned yet.

Sl: Vedno ji je pravil, kje bo hodil in kdaj bo prišel nazaj.
En: He always told her where he would be hiking and when he would come back.

Sl: Tokrat ni bilo nobenega klica, nobenega sporočila.
En: This time there was no call, no message.

Sl: Njen notranji alarm se je sprožil, a policija je ostala skeptična.
En: Her internal alarm had gone off, but the police remained skeptical.

Sl: "Nimam dovolj dokazov, da bi zares začeli iskanje," ji je rekel Matej, uradnik s kratkimi lasmi in resnim izrazom na obrazu.
En: "I don't have enough evidence to really start a search," Matej, an officer with short hair and a serious expression on his face, told her.

Sl: "Lahko je le zamudnik."
En: "He could just be a latecomer."

Sl: "Ne, to ni v njegovi navadi," je vztrajala Nika.
En: "No, that's not in his nature," Nika insisted.

Sl: "Prosim, samo ga najdite."
En: "Please, just find him."

Sl: Matej je zmajal z glavo, a videl je odločnost v Nikinih očeh.
En: Matej shook his head, but he saw determination in Nika's eyes.

Sl: Morda, si je mislil, je nekaj več.
En: Maybe, he thought, there was something more.

Sl: Nika ni mogla čakati.
En: Nika couldn't wait.

Sl: Odšla je v Zoranovo stanovanje.
En: She went to Zoran's apartment.

Sl: Pot pipe so vodile do neurejenega prostora; tja Zoran redko koga povabi.
En: The path of the key led to a messy space; Zoran rarely invited anyone there.

Sl: Nenavadno je bilo prazno.
En: It was unusually empty.

Sl: Na mizi je našla Zoranovo pohodniško opremo in kup zapiskov.
En: On the table, she found Zoran's hiking gear and a pile of notes.

Sl: Med papirji so bili čudni zapisi: kraji, datumi, besede, ki ji niso povedale nič, a so hkrati vzbujale dvom.
En: Among the papers were strange writings: places, dates, words that meant nothing to her but at the same time raised doubt.

Sl: To zanjo ni bilo običajno.
En: This was not normal for her.

Sl: Odločila se je.
En: She made a decision.

Sl: Poklicala je Mateja.
En: She called Matej.

Sl: "Imam dokaze," mu je rekla preko telefona.
En: "I have evidence," she told him over the phone.

Sl: "To niso navadni zapiski.
En: "These aren't ordinary notes.

Sl: Zoran nikoli ne pusti stvari brez nadzora."
En: Zoran never leaves things unattended."

Sl: Matej je končno popustil.
En: Matej finally relented.

Sl: Organiziral je iskalno ekipo.
En: He organized a search team.

Sl: Skupaj z Niko so se
