Luke 5:33

And they said to him, 

“The disciples of John 

fast often andoffer prayers, 

and so do the disciples of the Pharisees, but yours eat and drink.”

Luke 11:1

“Lord, teach us to pray,  

as John taught his disciples.”

In these days he went out to the mountain to pray, and all night he continued in prayer to God.

And when day came, he called his disciples and chose from them twelve, whom he named apostles:
