Martin tells his work are "are written to make people smile—or better yet, laugh. They’re intentionally different from the well-meaning, earnest, intense, political kind. His work leans towards the disrespectful: often irreverent, occasionally rude, and usually self-deprecating.

These are poems with little in the way of hidden meanings — written to be performed, not puzzled over. That said, they do often carry a thread of social commentary.Martin has performed across various venues in the North West. A career highlight? Making the Top Four at the Liverpool Fringe—something he proudly (and constantly) reminds his family of.
