The Rays could not get out of their own way in a 6-2 loss to the Cincinnati Reds. The Rays only allowed 7 hits but walked 8 Reds batters that lead to the 4 runs. The Rays would get on the board first with a Yandy Diaz solo homer in the 6th. The Reds would immediately respond with 2 in the 6th because of an error by Rays shortstop Taylor Walls. The Rays would tie the game the next inning with a Josh Lowe RBI single. In the bottom of the 7th things would unravel for the Rays. The Bullpen would give up 4 walks in the inning which would end up leading to 2 Reds runs to make the lead 4-2. Ryan Pepiot was fantastic for the Rays. He went 6 IP striking out 6 and not giving up any earned runs. It is panic time for the Rays. They sit at just 1 game above .500 with a big game on deck tomorrow afternoon against the Reds to close out the series.
