We discuss his new book, Reinventing SETI: New Directions in the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence. We discuss the outdated SETI paradigms such as Fermi's Paradox, the Drake Equation, and METI, as John argues that scientists should approach the pursuit of extraterrestrials in a more effective manner.
