Today, the future of the 750-acre property is the subject of a trial that has seen a bitter land dispute play out before the High Court. In one of the most colourful Irish court cases in recent memory, John Magnier, the bloodstock billionaire, and two of his children, are seeking to enforce a handshake deal agreed between Mr Magnier and Richard Thomson-Moore to buy Barne Estate.
