You can’t give from an empty cup and you sure as heck can’t give unconditional love from a heart full of judgment. We only love others as deeply as we love ourselves. That’s the ceiling. That’s the mirror.
If you’re constantly criticizing yourself, setting impossible standards, or withholding grace when you make a mistake then that same energy seeps into your relationships. It becomes conditional love: “I’ll love you if you behave the way I think you should.” Sound familiar?
Real love, true soul-deep love, starts with the way YOU treat YOU. When you give yourself compassion, forgiveness, and space to be human, you naturally extend that same energy to others. You stop trying to fix people or judge their process because you’ve learned to honor your own journey.
Want to love others better? Start by softening the voice in your head. Nourish your spirit. Celebrate your growth. Heal your wounds without demanding perfection. When you become a safe place for yourself, others will feel that safety too.
Love expands in direct proportion to the love you’re willing to give yourself. So, if you’re wondering where to begin, go to the mirror. That’s where love begins…and where it grows.
May this conversation be beneficial to your life journey. Many blessings!
