Sl: Mateja je stala na obali jezera Bled.
En: Mateja stood on the shore of Lake Bled.
Sl: Voda je sijala v soncu, obdajala jo je zelena narava, v daljavi pa so se risali Julijske Alpe.
En: The water shone in the sun, surrounded by green nature, and in the distance, the Julian Alps loomed.
Sl: Bil je začetek poletnega tabora z njeno šolo.
En: It was the start of a summer camp with her school.
Sl: Vse bi moralo biti popolno, vendar je Matejo nekaj žulilo.
En: Everything should have been perfect, but something was bothering Mateja.
Sl: Bila je odlična učenka, vendar jo je samozavest zapustila.
En: She was an excellent student, but her self-confidence had left her.
Sl: Ko je pogledala v jezero, ni videla le mirne vode, ampak tudi svoje skrbi.

Sl: "Mateja, greš z nami na vožnjo s kanuji?
En: "Mateja, are you coming with us for a canoe ride?
Sl: Tomaž obljublja, da ne bo prevrnil čolna," se je nasmehnila.
En: Tomaž promises not to overturn the boat," she smiled.
Sl: Lučka je vedno vedela, kako razbiti napetost.
En: Lučka always knew how to break the tension.
Sl: Tomaž je z nasmehom že čakal.
En: Tomaž was already waiting with a grin.
Sl: "Ljubi kanuji se ne smejo zamuditi," je rekel v smehu.
En: "Beloved canoes must not be missed," he said with a laugh.
Sl: Skrbno je pazil, da se kdorkoli nasmeje.
En: He carefully ensured that everyone smiled.
Sl: Mateja je globoko vdihnila.
En: Mateja took a deep breath.
Sl: "Zakaj pa ne," si je rekla sama pri sebi.
En: "Why not," she told herself.
Sl: "Poskusila bom.
En: "I will try.
Sl: Ne bom dovolila, da me strah prevzame."
En: I won't let fear take over."
Sl: Sedli so v kanu in začeli veslati.
En: They sat in the canoe and began paddling.
Sl: Voda je bila mirna, otok s cerkvico sredi jezera pa privlačen.
En: The water was calm, and the island with its little church in the middle of the lake was enticing.
Sl: Kmalu so vsi trije uživali v plovbi in družbi.
En: Soon all three were enjoying the ride and the company.
Sl: Nenadoma so se oblaki zgrnili nad jezero.
En: Suddenly, clouds gathered over the lake.
Sl: Dežne kaplje so začele padati.
En: Raindrops began to fall.
Sl: "Nevihta!" je zaklical Tomaž, a brez šale tokrat.
En: "Storm!" shouted Tomaž, but without joking this time.
Sl: Mateja je pogledala Lučko.
En: Mateja looked at Lučka.
Sl: Lučka je mirno rekla: "Moramo se vrniti.
En: Lučka calmly said, "We need to return.
Sl: Veslajmo skupaj."
En: Let's paddle together."
