As today's show begins, Department of Homeland Security Kristi Hoem is providing an update on an off-duty border patrol agent who was shot during an apparent botched armed robbery over the weekend in New York City. The 42-year-old officer is in stable condition and is expected to survive. Police say there is no evidence that he was targeted because of his employment. A suspect is in custody.
