Douglas L. Murray is Sociology Professor Emeritus, Colorado State University. He was a John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation Research and Writing Fellow in the Program on Peace and International Cooperation, and a J. William Fulbright Senior Research Scholar. For over 4 decades he pursued both an academic career and a parallel role as a development adviser in Africa, Asia and Latin America for the World Bank, USAID, the Danish Agency for International Development, CARE International, and others.
