The Cincinnati Reds defeated the New York Mets 8-4 on Friday night at Citi Field, thanks to a big night from Austin Hays, who blasted two home runs and drew two walks. Matt McLain added to the offensive surge with a homer of his own as the Reds lineup stayed hot. Nick Lodolo turned in another strong outing, going 7 innings and allowing just 2 earned runs to keep the Mets in check. With the win, the Reds improved to 51-47 and continued their push in the NL Wild Card race.
