Shelly Snow Pordea was raised as an Independent Fundamental Baptist, and experienced CSA at a very young age, in fact too young for Shelly to process what had happened to her. It wasn't until a tent revival style sermon about Jezebels and Harlots at Church Camp that Shelly even made the connection to her abuse years earlier. When she brought this newfound information to the adults in charge of protecting her, they instead ostracized her and made her an example of what not to be, requiring supervision to even sit next to other girls her age. Though her deconstruction of leaving the IFB, Shelly shares a beautiful story of getting back to what's truly important.
