Josh Swift has a story that will blow your mind. After buying bitcoin in 2010 and forgetting about it, he found himself in a bad place. Mentally, physically, financially... he was struggling. Until he remembered that he put the bitcoin on a hard drive and left it in his mom's shed. Josh's story is a testament to bitcoin's power to literally save lives, and a teaching moment for others thinking about taking self custody. Josh is now rebuilding his life, working out of Strategy Hub, investing in bitcoin businesses and continuing his open source work as a software developer. Also in this episode is Joshua Groth. Joshua is an adventure athlete, commercial pilot, and Bitcoin educator. In 2019, driven by concerns over individual freedoms, he deepened his study of economics and history leading him back to Bitcoin. With a background in risk management and commercial aviation, Joshua founded NovaSapien and has applied his skills to developing best practices for using and securing bitcoin. Focusing on self-custody education and wallet recovery, it is Joshua’s dream to see NovaSapien help make Bitcoin accessible worldwide.Timestamps:Intro with Joshua Groth [00:00]Assessing Risk in Sport and Self Custody [4:20]Bitcoin OG RECOVERS Lost Coins [9:44]Porcfest and Finding Your People [15:08]Joshua's POV on the Story [20:02]Would you have sold?
